Character Origins

1. Creation:

   • Vision was originally built by Ultron, the rogue AI created by Hank Pym (or Tony Stark and Bruce Banner in the MCU).
   • Ultron intended Vision to be a weapon to destroy the Avengers.

2. Consciousness:

   • In the comics, Vision’s brain patterns are based on the late superhero Wonder Man (Simon Williams).
   • In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), his mind is a fusion of Tony Stark’s AI J.A.R.V.I.S., the Mind Stone, and contributions from Bruce Banner.

3. Turn to Heroism:

   • Despite being Ultron’s creation, Vision defies his programming and joins the Avengers, guided by his growing sense of morality.
